Despark was established on 15 September 2005, started as Academy in Bukit Raja, Klang Selangor. Despark Auto Academy was accredited by Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran(JPK) to conduct the Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Program under Automotive After Sales Service Level 2. At the same time Despark Auto Academy also get accredited by City and Guilds (C&G), United Kingdom to conduct the International Vocational Qualification (IVQ) Program under Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles. Despark was then expanded in Bachang, Malacca on July 2006, Georgetown, Penang in August 2007. The success of Despark led to its establishing branch campuses in Malaysia with a total investment of RM 150 million, and realizing its vision to be the largest private institution of Automotive Engineering in Malaysia.
The number of students grew tremendously and by November 2009 the Klang campus was relocated to the present main campus in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Despark engages key players in the automotive industries. We constantly offer training of the latest automotive technologies to not only the students but trainers as well. For instance, trainers are continuously sent to Bosch, which is widely recognized as having the most contemporary and innovative automotive engine technologies for training. With the experiences and professionalism of Despark, we were upgraded from academy to college. Despark International College DK099(B) has been accredited by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) to conduct several automotive engineering program: Diploma in Automotive Engineering Technology (DAET) Diploma in Automotive Technology (DAT) and Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Automotive Engineering 3+0 in collaboration with Glyndwr University.
In order to generate opportunities for students to pursue and further their education abroad, Despark International College (DSIC) partners with one of the largest education group in the world, Pearson to conduct an internationally recognized certification, BTEC (Business Technology Education Council) in year 2014. DSIC offers Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Technology (Motorsports) covers the technical knowledge and skills that are important when students engage in the motorsports industry, and Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Automotive Engineering in which students may complete dual diploma in an effective and efficient way. Starting frm year 2020, DSIC is offering its franchise Bachelor’s Degree programme namely Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Automotive Engineering.

Despark College once again proved its academic excellence continuous two years when received “Centre Of Excellence” among all automotive institutions offering BTEC Course in Malaysia. Despark College maintained its quality academic for delivering Pearson BTEC international qualifications.
With professional guidance and training, our students were selected as winners of “The World’s Best Performer for BTEC Higher National Diploma” in Malaysia together with YB P.Kamalanathan and H.E. Victoria Treadell.
Despark College contributed and assisted Shell Malaysia on providing sufficient manpower to achieve record for “The Most Number of Cars in a Lubricant Changing Event in 12 hours” and successfully etching Shell’s name into Malaysia Book of Records. In year 2014, Despark partnered with one of the largest education group in the world, Pearson to conduct internationally recognized certification, BTEC (Business Technology Education Council) for Level 3 and 5. Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Technology (Motorsports) covers the technical knowledge and skills that are important when students engage in the motorsports industry. The Aircraft Maintenance Programme is a MQA-certified programme designed to prepare graduates in obtaining the Department of Civil Aviation(DCA) License, so they can be placed in aircraft operations and maintenance jobs with leading airlines and specialist aircraft maintenance employers, both in Malaysia and internationally. Through these innovative aircraft maintenance engineering programs, the trainers are equipped with the actual and latest market needs of the skill requirements for technicians and mechanics in the industry.
